Years later, I return to Alaska. This time I explore the Brooks Range, the world’s highest mountains above the Arctic Circle, for several weeks by foot and canoe. While there, I summit a previously unclimbed peak, deal with harsh weather conditions, and spend some time in a remote Inuit (Eskimo) village. This is a story of friendship, Brokenbo, and how these old-school wilderness voyages were planned and executed.
